Are More Expensive Ceiling Fans Really Better?

This is the challenge that faces us all, no matter what product purchase we face. Walking down any grocery aisle or comparing options on Amazon brings the same questions forward… why is this one more expensive? Is it that much better? In certain products it is, in other products not so much.

For ceiling fans, expensive options are typically indicative of performance, durability, and expected life span. To ensure the expensive option is correct for the application, confirm a few key details before purchasing.

  1. Are the performance indicators (velocity, volume, and coverage tested by a reputable third-party entity)?
  2. Does the manufacturer share their warranty details publicly before purchasing?
  3. Is a local representative nearby your area should you have any questions?

Remember, expensive doesn’t always mean a ceiling fan is better. Price may be an indicator of quality, but certain nuances will speak to any price difference between ceiling fan manufacturing competitors.
